Secrets of bait fishing for carp paste and Boilie recipes!

Everyone wants to know what the best way to make incredibly effective baits is. There is lots of advice out there but to really focus on making baits that out-fish the best readymade baits is a skill that even bait making beginners can develop with the right advanced knowledge. Here are a few more revealing select expert tips on recipes and (and on beating readymade baits) to get you seriously catching far more fish!

The major mistake most anglers make when thinking about making their own unique homemade baits is this: they start out thinking about ingredients first! You might think this sounds strange. Why is it wrong to think about ingredients first when after all you are going to use ingredients to make your bait? The answer is that you immediately lose the maximum potential for your baits to be most successful! Think about fishing bait like this and you will be massively more successful; the problem provides the solution! Never think about ingredients first! Always think first about fish when making bait and you guarantee maximum most consistent success.

Now think about fish and how they operate internally and externally in context of their aquatic environment. In other words, deliberately exploit all that they use to avoid getting hooked in your unique, favour by exploiting these systems, sensitivities and behaviours. You achieve this by using the very specific leverage of carefully chosen bait substances chosen exactly due to their impacts you desire to have on fish internally and externally, and of course on water, the medium they will be detected within!

Most bait makers seem to over look that bait is best in solution, not in hard balls sitting on the bottom. In fact carp do not even spend the majority of their time on the bottom anyway. They travel off the bottom and exploit foods and temperature changes in an array of changing natural rhythms and changing conditions including those set by influence of sun and moon electromagnetic changes and so on that affect patterns in things like timings of natural hatches of mayflies and caddis flies, timings of most abundant blooming of bloodworms, timings of most abundant concentrations of zooplankton and algae in different water layers during night time and in certain current streams in a lake on certain days etc.

In this case you are pitting your wits against an ever evolving dynamically changing creature that is not static, and always adapting to new opportunities and threats in its environment, just as we humans are each and every day. You need to relate your bait design to the fish first. Sure fish constantly consume hard shelled crustacean and mollusks such as fresh water shrimp, a range of snails, mussels, and even crayfish in many waters today. It might not seem that much of a coincidence as this is totally logical, but when actually fishing you will get far more bites when fishing where fish feed naturally where their natural food is located.

I hope you can see the link here that if you fish on a bloodworm bed being actively harvested by the biggest fish in your lake then you are going to have far more chance of catching those fish compared to not fishing where the fish are most active! But you can miss out on a big part of the more hidden success formula here. Sure you catch fish when are fishing actually on fish, that much is obvious.

But in this case for instance you are on fishing on top of fish that are not only actively regularly feeding in a location, but are being conditioned through exposure to dissolved substances from the bloodworm and also from vibrations from bloodworm wriggling movements as they move and feed themselves.

Exposure to dissolved bloodworm excretions affects receptors in fish that influences their adaptation so that fish are even more sensitive to this form of food than usual. You can say that bloodworm have become far more palatable to carp. Palatability is a very major part of bait design as it not only means fish will feed and consume your baits, but when optimised for palatability then fish will be induced to feed repeatedly and give you maximum chances of hooking fish!

Being able to become sensitized to a food item is a natural adaptation fish have evolved. Obviously this makes detecting bloodworm and other foods much easier and far more energy efficient. Consider that carp can spend lots of time with their heads buried in black thick silk seeking out bloodworm in summer time. Being far more sensitized to the bloodworm secretions etc makes carp far more able to find extremely nutritious food at least energy cost. If a carp did not sensitise more to a particular food item it could well waste more energy than it would actually derive from finding and digesting it and this is certainly not a situation that will promote chances of survival!

The fact that human receptors sensitise to refined sugar because such sugar satisfies the bodys requirement for instance energy is something to bear in mind. It is not that sugar even stands out as so many substances are addictive in so-called foods today. If I suggest sugar is addictive you would maybe not believe me until I say that the food industry uses it as much as possible because it is addictive and alters the sensitivity of your receptors - even passing these changes onto to your grandchildren through your genes!

Fishing on a prime bloodworm bed means you are exploiting a naturally stimulating aquatic situation that is packed with concentrated foods and stimuli that hold fish and make them feed repeatedly. But the vital key here is that you are exploiting naturally heightened fish sensitivities and natural behaviour patterns and modes of feeding that those related food substances induce.

Among many things we can use baits to best do in order to catch fish is to actually replicate the influence of natural foods upon carp senses. It is all about seeing the bigger picture. We can sensitise fish to our own unique baits in certain ways that make them super potent, but this is simply one angle of attack and this is why it is so easy to out-fish any established readymade bait using your own optimised homemade baits. I mention optimised because heated baits of any form are not optimised. I can make homemade baits without any heating that last as long as I design those to last, from 3 hours to over 20 hours immersion.

I want my baits to be in solution not sitting as hard objects on the bottom. If my baits are hard then they soften but retain a flexible practicable matrix which is constantly open and releasing soluble bait materials. This mean that after 20 hours or even 3 hours if designed so, my hook baits will be smaller upon reeling in - and that is totally OK! Of course my free baits can be designed to break down in whatever time span to become sediment and release the maximum levels of soluble substances. Bait is working best actively breaking down. The most under-optimised baits just sit for hours as whole baits leaching a tiny fraction of components outwards.

Boiled or other heat-coagulated baits are very under-optimised baits indeed! They are a limited compromise to practicality and expectations of the masses who mistakenly think intact baits need to be some kind of conventional solid object attached to a hook - that is all! Think out of the box. Think about natural food items and find softness totally dominates even within crushable shells and carapaces!

So many anglers have a warped group conditioned mindset that makes them think that the ideal carp bait is a round ball or a soft or hard pellet sitting on the bottom or wafting in the water. But in fact the best bait is one that is actually actively dissolving and becoming solution. This dissolving produces the highest maximised concentrations of stimuli in the water that maintain fish physiology in excited states for repeated feeding and making them most vulnerable to being hooked on hook baits!

So think about the fact that carp habitually check out areas of their water for food opportunities and when food is in enough abundance to make feeding on it viable in terms of basic energy needs versus energy costs they will feed most enthusiastically. Ground baits and spod mixes are a reasonable line of attack, and of course using particle baits, crushed particles and crushed boilies and crushed pellets and tiny pellets etc are all part of the way towards keeping fish in a place and feeding. However the point is that you want fish constantly excited, but not fed!

Far too many anglers think baits need to be food, (as in to feed them,) but NO! Exploit sensitivities to substances found in their natural foods sure, but the primary purpose of bait is to stimulate feeding to maximum influence over fish behaviours in order to hook fish most efficiently! If you want to feed fish go start a fish farm and grow fish for profit and maximum weight gains! The 2 concepts of stimulating fish to maximum effect in order to hook them, and making fish food that is best digested for maximum biological conversion into fish, are totally different! I want to catch fish best - not feed them!

You have more chance of catching a carp fishing over 100 baits than 20,000. We used very high protein milk protein baits in low volumes during the seventies and eighties for one reason because they were effective like that, but also you simply did not need large volumes to induce great feeding especially when exploiting their soluble characteristics! It was only when fish meal baits became popularised so much and used as big beds of baits that so many anglers jumped onto the more is more mindset!

In fact the little and often approach is most usually the best way as any leading match man will advise, and the regular spodding of very very soluble bait for example is a good way though nothing new. This was a better method of bait delivery than using catapults at any range, and the Gardener bait rocket for example has been around for decades and I really enjoyed its benefits fishing over crushed extremely open granular bird food and pig food based type homemade baits in the eighties.

You want fish to be as excited and as stimulated as possible but not fed, so they will have most reason to try your hook baits multiple times. I say this as fish can be incredibly sensitive to bait density compared to water, among many other characteristics, and of course it is no surprise the most carefully balanced rig and bait can be beaten by very wary carp time and time again. However, when carp are stimulated to the degree that caution is overcome, well you see my point. This is for me the entire point of using fishing baits and designing baits optimised to actually achieve this situation. No whole baits do this satisfactorily and certainly no whole machine-formed readymade boilies can achieve this particularly if they last any longer than 3 hours without actively dissolving.

Of course anglers want to know that their baits are intact and still on when they reel in after perhaps a night of fishing where fish have been naturally feeding well. But how many times do anglers reel in after such a night, using readymade baits, not having had much success? Frankly it amazes me how many anglers are still in the mindset of using whole baits as free baits when it is so massively obvious that fish have had thousands of hours of practice avoiding that bait format and permutations of rigs utilizing that approach.

Most ideally you need to be making homemade baits that are nothing like any readymade popular baits in any way that fish can negatively associate with at all!

You can make then massively more stimulating by not only increasing levels of the most stimulating soluble substances within them, but totally changing the bait format entirely. I will not go into that here, but all I can say is that if you do this, then anglers fishing with readymade baits next to you will be scratching their heads wondering what on earth you are doing that is getting results when they are struggling to get bites - because you can make baits that sensitise fish to your homemade bait, which means other competing baits are noticed much less! This is providing that you do things to them that optimise them for solubility and diffusion.

Think about the most used bait format and avoid it at all costs (i.e. smooth surfaced rounded, pellet or barrel shaped whole hard baits.) Avoid the word boilies and transform your thinking into one of think fish first (and not bait or recipes or bait ingredients first!)

When all the lazy anglers with limited mindsets say to me give me a recipe I just laugh because they have missed what really matters by thousands of miles!

When you think about the relative density of natural food items carp seek out you will notice how much water content is involved and how much soluble substances these foods contain. This thought is a very revealing one I assure you! Do not aim to replicate a snail by making hard baits that can be made by machine. Aim instead to maximise the levels of natural stimuli in baits that are not hard but instead are resilient but soft, maybe even spiky and sharp not smooth, flexible, and even bend and give to pressure from lips of cautiously investigating carp. OK, There is so much more to all this but I will keep this short!

By erasing the word and meaning of the word boilie or even hard or solid pellet out of your fishing mindset, and replacing it with thoughts about how natural food is packed with concentrations of substances carp have evolved to be most sensitive to, then you can make baits than will be natural, move most naturally, not resemble commercial baits, and will out-fish readymade baits with ease! Know your carp fishing gear and you fishing like a pro

Knowing the basic characteristics of the gear tent is essential, especially to the selection of the best carp fishing. There are three basic factors to consider when choosing your address such as: the power of elevation of the rod, Rod test curve and the action of the rod.

CARP fishing gear Rod test curve

Understanding curve test of rod is fairly simple. This is when the end of the rod folds to the final stop at 90 degrees and the curve of test of rod is actually the amount of weight needed to achieve this curve. We are measuring the current strength of the rod. For example, if you want to capture a tent that weighs between 3 and 10 pounds, then, the rod will have a curve of test of rod of 10 pounds or less. It can be that the end of the rod is interrupted if the fish weighs more than the curve of the test.

Action of the rod

There are three types of capacity of bending of the rod. The action of the rod is what determines the capacity of bending. If you find that the rod tends to bend at least one-third of its final has a slow action. You will find that the rod tends to bend at the tip, then the action of the rod is considered that the medium pace. The Rod has a quick action if the rod bends in the top third.

Performance of carp fishing gear

The performance of their fishing for carp is determined by the power of elevation or the strength of the rod. The strength of the line should be compared to the power of elevation of the rod, or you have a broken rod. The rod may break if you have a line of light with a stick that has the power of hard work as well as having a thick line with a rod of light. You must know the type of water that catch on as this will help to determine the type of power lift needed. For example, a rod with high lifting power is required if the water has covered heavy or need to have a low consumption of elevation, if you are in clear water.

The CARP fishing bait

If you want to improve their chances with carp and feed their responses would offset some be delicious. Here are some recipes to be made at home that are sure to be a success.

Be of tuna
1. In a large bowl, mix all dry ingredients: 500 grams (18 ounces) of finely ground barramundi granules or pellets of trout, corn flour from 125 to 150 grams and 125 to 150 grams (about) of fine semolina.
2. In another bowl, mix the following ingredients: 6 large eggs, flavor of Solar of squid and Octopus Koi Rearer 8-10 litres, 4 or 5 desert spoons of tuna oil and sweetener of Solar liquid Candy by 1-2 ml.
3 Mix the 2 mixes and make balls (about 150 mm in diameter).
4 Simmer the ball for three minutes.
5 Dry on paper towels and leave to cool for a few minutes.

Be salty chicken
1 Mix all the dry ingredients in a large container: meal of protein and poultry of 300 g, 150 g of flour 50 g bread flour and corn. Add some drops of dark colour of food.
2 4 Large eggs and add it to the mix. You can add some liquid sweetener.
3 Roll records and split into the size you want your boilie be. Roll a ball.
4 Place the balls in boiling water until they float. Let them dry in documents of the towel.
5. Store in the refrigerator.

It is important to bear in mind the basic concepts such as things that every fisherman should take into account. Don't forget to take along their salty and pick up the fishing gear of tent right so that it can make most of their fishing experience.

The very foundations of carp fishing

Essentially, all you need to enjoy fishing for carp are three things: basic tackle, bait and patience (and last but not least!). But first, you need to know where is the carp.

One of the most beautiful things in the tent is the fact that the water that prefer to live is or move either still or very slow. This is great news for blood pressure, as the environment in which you fish tends to be very calm and quiet. You can spend pleasant decreasing for many hours in this way, regardless of if really detect anything. Many fans have found so great a pleasure in this hobby, which is a niche market in holiday of carp fishing that will assist the professional or every need of the inexperienced.

A gregarious creature, the tent is more often find themselves grouped with six or more than other people. Ideally, they chose a quiet setting that has much vegetation to provide floating shady. Tent is bed feeders, as they are difficult to detect from above water. You may, however, say if they are in fact there.

George Barnes, who has been fishing for over 30 years, knows how to find the best places. "Love the darkness and silence," he said. "If disturbed Habitat, they may disappear and not go back to bed for days." They are easily scared and a place where four or five were landed in a day may be following sterile. "

It has been known for the fishermen to the land of the tent of nearly fifty pounds; However, the average is of almost no this huge. Normally, it will review with 3-5 pounds, carp fishing gear need not be too sophisticated. In principle, a simple setup of rod and reel of 10 lb-línea is more than enough. To choose his fishing gear, not underestimate the value of a good floating. If you can afford a good float it is better to invest in it as you will definitely help it. As tent is easily scared away, it is not a good idea keep pulling his line and cast again.

As carp is omnivorous and will try almost anything that comes his way, there is a wide range of carp fishing bait in the market. "Usually to use a bait of terrain, gently lowered into the water," says Barnes. "Ser o granules or lobworm paste all works well." "Once the fish are used for the introduction of these, they will be more willing to take them from the hook."

"You must have patience for carp fishing." One day, he may not have luck with a type of bait, so it is essential to have as many different types of carp fishing bait in the stock market as possible. Be flavor of fruits or granules can sometimes bring instant catches: in other days, you have to change the variety of baits for fishing before that you will get results. "

There are other essentials to carry in your bag, as well as the flask and sandwiches. A variety of hooks, of different sizes and types, depending on the time of the year may be needed. An additional rod can often be useful. Maintains the easy configuration instead of using the tackle more and last variety of bolies can sometimes produce better results when carp fishing.

When all is said and done, and even spends in the tent and fantasy new bait fishing gear flavors, corresponds to the fish to decide whether or not feel like taking it!. In conclusion, the most important thing to remember when he goes fishing for carp is to take along your patience!

Making cheap carp fishing bait - the reality of recipes that work!

So how do you begin to formulate a homemade bait that will compete with all those expensive ready made baits? This is a long piece on this subject that will give you a practical insight into the formulation and impacts of using highly successful economical homemade baits against more expensive ready made baits - so read on!

Many anglers seem to get the completely wrong idea and actually begin with thoughts about flavours and ingredients instead of the most powerful and obvious starting point, the one that will guarantee success! When your starting point is the fish themselves you are thinking much more closely like a fish than like an angler who has all kinds of personal preferences about baits which very frequently bear very little relationship with what carp senses most respond to in terms of feeding.

For instance, I went on a rare trip to a commercial water last week and using my own homemade baits, I out-fished the 15 guys fishing during the period fished who were literally all using popular ready made baits. So what does this say about the thinking and fishing approach of the average carp angler? Some of the guys either side of me were getting very frustrated with their ready made baits which had cost them in some cases over 10 pounds a kilogram. Also the baits they were using have been very successful in the past on a range of waters including this very one fished and some other ready made baits other guys were using were newer to the water than the longer-established ready made baits. My baits which had never been experienced by the fish before did so well for many powerful reasons.

I even showed my baits to some of the other anglers. I explained that my free baits and hook baits were quite savoury and sweet tasting at the same time and had a taste that lingered on the tongue with only had a very subtle smell. The guys did not seem impressed with these which is a shame because they certainly out-fished the fruit flavoured ready made bait someone had given me to field test which these guys seemed to like a lot more even though it did not perform as well!

Ideally you will begin with the fishes essential dietary requirements because by doing this you are guaranteed to give fish many reasons to eat your bait. But in a competitive fishing environment where many baits supply quality nutrition many other factors give you the edge. For example if your bait actually performs better in water at pulling fish into your swim for instance, or at improving the amount of bait fish are willing to repeatedly swallow even beyond the amounts they would usually feel full up. You might have palatability improving additives that increase the likelihood that your baits are actually consumed instead of merely being mouthed.

It is a fact that you can make your own homemade baits so potently stimulatory that carp will actually rub their bellies and fins on them to get even more of those goodies out of them. Such potent over-dosed baits are ideal for pulling maximum numbers of fish into your swim while you can use under-dosed hook baits that fish will devour instantly. (Note in this example I am not referring to over-dosing using flavours.)

There are so many incredible secrets about baits. The way baits interact with water is absolutely vital and the leverage of the substances of your baits is severely limited by your skills at feeding free baits in the right volumes, regularity and patterns and so on to suit every fishing situation.

Altogether too many ready made carp baits are simply too indigestible to offer very many competitive advantages over better designed baits and many ready made baits offer so many bog standard ingredients that carp have been force-fed on for decades that they simply do not need to eat them as the essential requirements they supply have pretty much been permanently satiated.

One of the biggest secrets is to offer your carp something different and preferably unique to you alone. This might be just one ingredient or additive or the actual omission of many of the more frequently used ingredients and additives. The fish really know the difference and I know that this is a very strong reason for some of the big bait companies to use a product called Cypry Spice from a bait company called Willis Worms in Wales to replace the old very familiar Robin Red.

Just one way you can achieve this is in the unique and purposely differentiated ratios, levels and combination's of ingredients and additives in both powdered and liquid forms that you apply in your baits (and ground baits) within digestible and practicable limitations. Personally I prefer to source unique additives and ingredients and natural flavour components that all enhance the impacts of each other as much as possible to induce repeated carp feeding for as long as possible. Experiencing this in action while actually fishing is such a great buzz of confidence and this is one of the most exciting things about preparing, making and using homemade baits

For example for my session last week I made up a large volume of extremely cheap bait based mainly around a combination of a liquid fish protein (not the all too familiar L030,) and fish oil, and a high PC lecithin used in very high levels. This was added to a very simple base mix which contained the basic dietary essential carp requirements and had a very good and practically proven digestibility. This means that this bait is eaten and digested comparatively quickly at relatively little energy cost to the fish compared to so many other baits. This also means that the fish get to instinctively feel all the components and benefits of eating this bait and very quickly are ready to consume more of it which as you can imagine is a huge advantage when session fishing!

While fishing my session last week I was baiting up extremely regularly to combat the impacts of bait-robbing roach and bream shoals and still getting big fish rolling over my baits and seeing fish feeding on the baits along with accompanying fish catches. It got to the stage that the ready made bait guys fishing either side of me were scratching their heads and simply hoping for a bite. I noticed these guys only had 2 or three kilograms of bait and were introducing that sparingly, not even realising that the bulk of it was being whittled away within the hour by marauding roach and other smaller species!

Sure you can catch fish fishing small amounts of bait or single hook baits but actually controlling fish behaviours by leveraging the impacts of free baiting is one of the most powerful edges in carp fishing and is the cornerstone of top level match-fishing success! I used to fish with a guy who match-fished for England youth as well as a friend from school called Dion who match fished for England for many years and ground bait figured in the strategic thinking in many ways and although I was able to use this to out-fish them while carp fishing and sea fishing, they both taught me loads along the way and of course we never stop learning!

A very big part of their problem just how expensive their ready made baits were, after all few anglers can keep spending 10 pound a kilogram on bait added to high ticket prices, food, traveling costs etc, and be able to use enough bait to compete by actually leveraging bait to maximum effect. By making your own bait of course this is not a problem and in fact is the only way I can afford to compete with bait-sponsored anglers myself. On such waters the use of boilies really is important because the smaller species are very definitely not so small and will destroy a carefully introduced bed of particles or ground bait or pellets within minutes. When the roach reach 3 pounds and average 1 pound alongside other specimen tench, crucian carp etc the application of the correct free bait is crucial for outstanding success.

The big point here is the actual leverage of bait and being able to maximize its impacts on carp. To do this you need to sustain enough dissolved substances in the water in and around your swim to pull those carp in and keep them interested long enough for the biggest fish to compete amongst themselves and give you a very good shot at a multiple big fish catch - by design!

You simply cannot do this consistently when fishing on a budget with a only a couple of kilograms of bait on waters teaming with specimen-sized smaller species, be it giant roach, bream, crucian carp, single figure carp, specimen tench, nuisance catfish and others. The attentions of all these fish can be harnessed to actually attract more carp into your swim buy only if you use enough bait in the right way in correct situations to do it, (many top anglers really are masters at doing this!)

In fact many very consistent big carp anglers are not particularly technically skilled but have an incredible if not instinctive talent for maximising the application and leverage of the impacts of bait. I feel this subject is much misunderstood and is a vital leveller of talent, time and money between anglers of lesser resources who deserve to catch and not blank or suffer comparatively poor catches when exceptional catches are actually within their reach with enough knowledge put into practice!

I saw all around me guys using pellets, standard 14 and 18 millimeter boilies for example, ready made ground bait balls and method mixes that the big roach shoals were tearing into. A lot of the guys were reeling in with their ready made baits completely whittled off their rigs so you can imagine the impact of the small fish on their free baits!

By contrast I was applying 2 distinct types of baits to my swim to counteract the problem of smaller fish and also to allow the carp to get a smell and taste of my baits and leading them to making mistakes with my hook baits! By strange coincidence, much of the bait I had prepared had been designed to deal with the crayfish in another water I was going to fish and did not. In this particular case my boilies were of 2 types; soft semi-boiled boilies for free baiting, and rock hard super-boosted hook bait boilies absolutely packed with naturally potent triggers and other vital substances to provide competitive edges.

Many of my free baits were well over 25 millimeters in size and none were made to be round but rather all were odd shaped and were in fact not prepared by rolling at all. Only a small proportion of the free baits were of around the standard 12 or 14 millimeter sizes. These free baits were designed to dissolve within about 4 hours of immersion thereby doing the maximum work in pulling and triggering fish while not giving them much time to actually eat them! The vast majority of ready made boilies will not break down for at least 8 to 36 hours or longer so you can see how much their effectiveness is limited by their actual form; the preference of average anglers for durable hard boilies as free baits and hook baits has many drawbacks!

I have seen with my own eyes very big carp actually fanning away standard round boilies in order to be able to pick up smaller odd shaped baits in safety. (On the lake bed odd shaped baits are very often standard round boilies which have been in the water a while, long enough for smaller fish to whittle them down in size and shape and which wary carp view with far less suspicion as these hook them far less than whole round baits!)

By contrast though, my hook baits and a proportion of matching free baits were of a totally different design and were super-boosted with natural triggers and were rock hard. These baits were of very small size and about as far from conventional machine-rolled shape, texture, density etc that you could imagine. These baits in large sizes where used in PVA bags and a very hard paste in large sized pieces were also used to very good effect.

This might all sound like common sense and to some of you like hard work, but I paid my money to fish the commercial fishery just the same as the other 15 anglers there but I spent less on my bait and still had better results despite them using the most popular brands of ready made baits. In part due to my 30 years in carp fishing, my own scientific research and long bait-making experience and my fellow BCSG friends my interest in bait and fish senses, metabolism, health, etc and my ability to improve my baits has come a very long way, and every week I get to learn new things to give me more competitive fishing edges and even more economical baits!

You may not be into master antioxidants, metabolic stimulants, bioactive flavour components or sorting the first to third limiting amino acids in your bait recipes. But I can assure you that just a few of the most powerful secrets will multiply your catches to the degree you will shudder at just how much time in hours and money in under-performing baits you will have wasted over the coming years in your possible ignorance. Having said that no-one knows everything about baits and most bait company bosses appear to have certain gaps in their knowledge.

There is are hard core of bait company bosses who by definition have been doing it for decades longer than anyone else and know far more in theoretical and practical terms as a result but even these top guys often have to compromise performance aspects of their bait due to the actual sensory and practical preferences of their human customers and their price sensitivity too! This gives the homemade bait maker enormous opportunities to out-fish very many popular ready made baits; certainly many of the most successful homemade baits I have made could not be offered commercially because buyers simply would not relate to them as conventional carp baits at all and would not buy them; unfortunately such is the mentality of the average angler and shows just how much they have been conditioned as much as carp! Having an open mind about bait is a definite advantage!

There are also very many bait company guys out there who are really just starting out with pretty limited actual working knowledge of even a handful of recipes of ready made baits they might be offering. Certain further gaps in knowledge might be in connection with various aspects of carp senses operations and in maximizing their exploitation potential, or in regards to how certain sweet substances impact physiologically to change DNA, carp preferences and taste cells cross adaptation impacts, or what to include to actually regulate carp blood sugar levels beneficially.

Significantly it might be some bait company bosses over-look completely the long-term (behaviour-forming) impacts of more obscure antioxidant additives on carp preferences, or the deeper aspects of enhancing impacts of certain non, semi-essential and essential amino acids for various effects using any of a whole range of substances, or even in regards to exactly how flavours work etc! (Many of the best flavours work well beyond simple potentiation of nerve cells. Never forget that as carp detect certain substances down to as little as 6 parts per million concentration, every single thing you put in a bait and in the swim can have impacts on results to some degree even if you cannot smell it!)

Every aspect of your bait can be used as a competitive advantage so attention to detail is of vital importance because it is this that can very seriously multiply your catches!

As a couple of quick tips, even if you have been making baits for a while, why not try out very high levels of Ccmoore Feedstim XP powder in your baits with their awesome Odyssey XXX liquid, or why not be very different and try this unique combination of premium grade salmon protein, high PC lecithin and pure Scottish salmon oil from my friend Phil at CW Baits and Carp fishing pellets. (This combination did fantastic last week and it also out-fished all the ready made baits it was fished against this past winter and was a combination I chose to exploit last week in my very cheap but successful homemade baits!) Phil started out as a premium koi food supplier and now offers some unique exceptional bait ingredients and very high quality very digestible baits (amino-sorted!) I know he is looking for some bait testers due to expanding his range of HNV baits so do contact him right away!)

I hope this makes you consider what savings you can make over the years and also the improved catches over your peers you are potentially missing out on right now! For much more information on making outstanding competitive homemade baits (and at a fraction of the cost of ready made baits) whether boilies, pellets, ground baits, boosted particles, meats, fish and natural baits etc, why not get my unique big carp bait secrets guides at my site called Baitbigfish and improve your catches and bank balance simultaneously!

Quality of ESP carp fishing gear

What is E.S.P. fishing?

Well, if they were thinking it was a new type of gear that would help him to find and capture fish using some kind of mysterious psychic energy, not very. E.S.P. fishing gear is a popular and respected brand of fishing equipment. In fact, for many fisherman tents (and fisher women) E.S.P. fishing gear is the brand of choice.

CARP fishing is growing in popularity. There was a time when some considered tent "fish waste", that you don't want to capture, and is quickly pulled back if it did. But, over the years, many fishermen have come to realize that fishing for carp is a decent time. And for many different reasons.

Firstly and most importantly is the fact that you can eat carp, not always to say much of the fish "sports". True, some people simply caught the challenge of achieving "a big". But to dine in the fruits of their work is added to the sense of achievement you got of the fish catch.

Another beauty of carp is its size. Part of the fun of sport fishing is the really big fish, which is relatively easy when using quality equipment such as E.S.P. fishing gear. It is nothing unusual to stumble in the tent that is more than 20 or 30 pounds in size. (Although carp 10 pounds and children tends to be better to eat).

Another thing which makes it so attractive for fishing carp is the challenge. Serious fishermen do not want to put a line in the water, pull, and find a fish hanging in the final. They want a fish that puts a struggle. And this is certainly true of the tent.

Two more advantages of carp fishing are its abundance and different places. You can find these fish in streams, lakes and ponds around the world. Where you live, there is a good chance there is a body of water where you can fish for carp about.

Fishing for carp, your best option is to use a rod of heavy, high-quality and drums with a 15 pound test line. Anything less could be too easily broken by the weight of one of these heavy fish.

E.S.P. fishing gear is a brand that offers a variety of bars specially designed for the capture of tents in all sizes and in many different environments. If you are interested in the CARP fishing, this line of fishing equipment should be at the top of the list.

Go of carp fishing in France

France has become a very popular destination for fisherman tents, especially with so many different tent choose lakes in France and many who have tents of 40 pounds to more than 50 pounds.

However, due to the magnitude of the tent, it is necessary to have sensitive equipment in which the land of these fish. Most people recommend at least a rod of curve of the test of 2 and 3/4 or more, as well as rolls of baitrunner are mandatory. We actually use the baitrunner of 8010GT of Shimano reels, and although there are some the most modern in the market, would rather than anything else. But many people also opt for the reels of great big hole that kept the line much more, as some of the places that you can fish could be considerable distance from the Bank.

In France there are a lot of fishing lakes private property such as Rainbow Lake, l'Etang of Tricherie, L' l'Etang du Chef de Ville, etc., who hire boats and many other lakes as Lake invoices and Britain mill lakes that allow to use your own or bait boat rentals.

Also, many of the Lakes of carp fishing cannot be twisted, the best option is monofilament line and we have found that Ultima PowerPlus is an excellent quality of line fishing, but a line of higher breakdown voltage is needed when you are in the fishing of carp in France in comparison with the majority of the United Kingdom of fishing lakes.

Some lakes are also very strict about the kind of store where should be a bivouac, but as we we do this as a family, have a big tent that is not striking color but need a greater swim more, so there are some lakes that we could not fish in for this reasonso it is reasonable to remove these details before booking your holiday of carp fishing.

Bait is now something that differs from a Lake of lake and on some Lakes French tent will only allow specific types of bait and is necessary to do so before you go, for example, Tiger nut or certain Earth baits are not allowed.

Mobile phones are the norm these days, but apart from these who need load, you have to consider things as bait boats if you have one, but now have much of the Lakes of fishing of carp in France meet to load different teams to tieney when it comes to facilitiessomething that may not have really thought about the necessity of a freezer, hanging in forgetting this, what facilities for washing? Well forget this, we need the refrigerator, not only for the bait, but that cold beer or water ice in a very hot day.

And although we all know that unity and aspect of survive, there are now numerous tents different lakes for fishing in France entitled through comprehensive packages of accommodation, all supplied equipment and lagos even than a full-service flights through full Boardalong with exclusive fishing and some of these include Lakes dream, Croix Blanche, Willow Lake, Lake Juvanze, Britain Mill Lakes and many more, as well as some lakes are also available as an exclusive family holiday.

However, the cost of these and all inclusive carp fishing packages can be considerably more expensive than their own arrangements, but certainly can save you very complicated and keep his wife happy!

Rules and regulations vary in the many lakes of carp in France and some permit to fish with three bars, while others are four and night fishing is allowed only if the owner has a permission to do soThus again always is a good idea to check these points before the subject.

Other points that you feel are essential for you, as local bars, restaurants, shops or facilities for swimming, etc. are also good points to check in, as well as most people find that the CARP fishing is best during the months of April to October, but bear in mind the further south you go in the height of summer with the hot days, most of the action will take place at night when it is colder, so it was better prepared because of lack of sleep!

At a meeting near Bordeaux, we were getting up and down the alarms of bite at least two to three times every night and by the time our stay was nearing its end, pulled out us our bars only for what you could get some peace of mind and to update with much needed sleep prior to the unit of long back home!

But to say that, when it is captured 40 pounds more each time tent, lack of sleep is negligible and if you are trying to catch a fish of a lifetime or simply beating your best personal brand, after in France carp fishing holidays are definitely for it!

Some fishing - Fisher needs gear tent tent

That carp fishing Gets the best results. For a successful and comfortable fishing experience should really be tent of quality fishing gear. It will last a long time and we bring you a lot of enjoyment of their fishing trips. Remember to use the correct tackle will make your tent fishing experience much more enjoyable. They really do tackle designed for carp fishing. Here are some of the elements to consider in his next adventure of carp fishing.

(1.) Your fishing rod. Hands down is the most important part of the stack of any fisher of equipos-pero how much should raisins and which is better adapted for carp? But in General a good pole for the tent is a thicker, stimulate a fish are considerably greater. A well constructed carbon rod is a good option, and found that it maintains its own under pressure and extreme weight. There is also a good idea to find one that is both robust and it can be removed so it is easier to transport. One thing is certain, go with a rod that can handle the stress.

(2) Good use bait. It's really easy to get lazy and cheap when it comes to bait. After all, does not attempt to give his tent a food 5 star - want to get hooked. The good news is that it does not necessarily have to spend a lot of bait of good quality that is better to attract large tents. For example, there are a lot of homemade bait recipes that you can follow the average fisherman can be right at home. If you have your own bait there are plenty of recipes online and if I had rather shell for a few dollars more for the good things there are a lot of stores that offer high right baits in line.

(Good line fishing 3). Actually, this goes hand in hand with a rod of high quality. If you have a weak line that cannot bear the weight of his pulling against the tents by pulling and mass has a recipe for failure. Make sure that you are using a line of high quality, at least 12 pounds or more, is the best way to ensure that does not break the line. In the case of carp fishing gear not discount line as anything else that can only cut corners on. Berkley or Sufix are good brands to investigate.

When it comes to carp fishing tackle, making sure that you have the right equipment is essential to make sure that you have a pleasant and successful time his casting reel. Fortunately if you buy more selective and in some cases spend a little more can significantly improve their experience to the wild fishing carp.

Get the most out of your carp fishing team

Get the most out of your UK carp fishing equipment? CARP can be a challenge to catch, but with the right of fishing and know how, you will be surprised of how well you can do. To be successful, it is important to know how to catch a carp and how to care for properly one before him has been caught.

Making the capture

Often carp for grouping; not often seen one by itself. This brings us to the first rule of capture a tent: there is strength in numbers, so ideally, want to find a tent is not in the group. Where are you more likely to find an isolated fish? Take your gear to the spaces where it is placed deep Royal of the water, which appear to be an attractive haven for a tent.

Now tent gets scared easily, it cannot thrash around and expect to catch anything. Please take your time and be as quiet as possible. If you a tent, you can use any number of good decoys as bait for tents including worms, worms, pellet and so on. Pull the hook a meter or two in front of him so it looks natural to the tent. It can be suspected if a juicy worm "suddenly appears" from scratch. Intelligent game and you will have it good, line sinker and in no time!

Blimey, you have it! Do now what?

Now once you've caught the tent, the objective is to use your gear safely tent remove you the water, weigh you, obtain a photograph of the capture of large and return it safely. All fish are vulnerable once removed from its water room. You need a net quality that is large enough so that the fish struggling not to hurt himself while leaving around. Carefully put it on the wet mat, then in the fabric of weight.

If you don't have the camera ready to shoot immediately his triumphant moment, is probably best to put the tent in a network or SAC and temporarily put it in the Lake. Use a network if you are only going to be for a few minutes. For longer periods the sack. Once completed the photos, gently return CARP to the water.

CARP fishing is a penalty sport in the United Kingdom: the team of correct carp fishing and these tips, will be ready to assume these tents in no time!

Find the perfect place for fishing - his friends fishing tent will be green with envy

In order to obtain great results when fishing tent it is essential to have a deep knowledge and understanding of the necessary conditions. You must be aware of how they behave in tents in general, the way that they react in different environments and where and when is it best use the tackle.

Worth bearing in mind that the tent all enjoy warm waters and for this reason, whatever her season is likely to be found the largest tent around ships docked at the docks. For this reason, it is good to download its tackle as a fence at the front of the ship that can possibly be.

Here are some other localities of carp and where it is possible to sort of catch.

-In and around water lilies

-Between coniferous trees killed in rivers

-In point of sale or hydrants

-In the areas of reeds

-Close large rocks

-Near of bridges

-In warm waters

-On the waterways with different levels of depth

-The Near Islands

On the planning of the CARP fishing season is concerned, its fishing for carp will work best in warmer climates. However, it does not mean that the fish is not in cooler temperatures, is only a matter of being aware of how and where to locate them.

For example, in the spring will discover tents in shallower waters, where the water is warmer than in other places. Therefore, for the earlier year carp fishing you need to know where warmer waters. However, during the summer months there is a much easier the task of finding the tent. You see jumping and everything that has to do is to cut its fishing of carp as quickly as possible.

On the other hand, when the fish are preparing for the winter by inventory in the food, the autumn is the most perfect time for carp fishing, so if you can wait this long are to be rewarded well. October and November months are good, but more to the South is even more fruitful to hang on until November and December.

The rest of the winter months will not find big tent all and this is the least successful season of fishing of this type. However, if this is what you really want to go fishing, it would be better to wait five to seven consecutive days of warmer temperatures to lower their carp fishing gear. Between 10: 00 am and 5 pm you will find that the water is hot enough for the tent to be present.

If you are fishing Lake, a strong wind often works well for you, and although you is not the most comfortable spot same positioning in a windswept area, they could be productive as capture will carp.

When their carp fishing gear are made from safe River fishing is loaded with bait and let down by what the wind does not take the bait. Almost 100% of the tent of time reach near the Bank during strong winds so fishing between five and twenty eight yards from the banks of the River is much more likely every success with his capture.

What is the best carp fishing bait?

There is one thing such as carp fishing secrets and the village named experts in this field really tell them what they are? These are major fishermen's tents which are gaining more and the largest in the country tent, I think they are going to say what is the best bait for carp fishing and when to use it?

I can tell you now not many of them do so, specialists of the tent to pursue these fish are very protective of their techniques and rarely tell you things like what is the best bait for carp fishing and when you should use. I am an avid fisherman who has been in this game for years, began in the 1970s and now no one is willing to say anything, all higher fishermen keep everything you knew jealously and there was no way that could find information such as where fish to carp fishingWhat tactics to use or what bait to use at different times of the year.

During my early days that he desperately needed help, I needed to know what the big boys, who were using, methods used and where they trawlers for these tents of Monster. Today is a different kettle of fish (excuse pun!) there are large amounts of information in the market today, books, videos, magazines, the list is endless, but they are not so easy to find this information in one place and have information of the best fishermen of carps in the countryThis type of information is available if you know where to find it.

What is the best bait for carp fishing?, there is something like 'the best bait for carp fishing' can well tell you there are and will make a great difference to capture or not capture. One thing that has to learn is that the CARP fishing is definitely not an exact science, techniques for catching them change depending on the time of the year, the best bait for fishing carp in summer will not be the best hook in winter. The equipment and methods used in the summer will not work in winter that has to change its tactics.

Let me give you an example of what I say, in the summer months, from June to September tent are at there are more active, which means that they consume large amounts of food, in the summer of tent will eat almost anything, sweet corn, lunch meat loaf, as, to name a few. Back to basics often can produce a fish from scratch, all these baits have been much rather than being, so if they struggle to an execution attempt by putting a large piece of bread in a size of 6 hook and place it in the marginsThis works especially well in the night just before dusk.

One thing to remember is the CARP fishing has changed over the years and the introduction of high-protein baits such as has accounted for some incredible captures. This type of bait has some great advantages, are used on a platform of hair so it can deliver 150 yards and never leave, try to do it with bread!. CARP being love and is easily suck up to 100 of them in a short period of time. A suggestion is to see what people are using in a particular Lake, chances are that there will be a taste of boilie that allows the tent and they are willing to take, so I ask around to see what works best in anywhere in particular.

Good luck with your fishing, this may be the season that catch the.

CARP fishing tips

Suggestion 1

One of the best carp fishing tips, I think that I can give when it comes to carp fishing is to learn as much as possible about tents. This may seem obvious, but would be surprised of how carp fishermen are not clued on the fish really are fishing for. CARP is probably one of the fish most suspects may every attempt to catch, this is to say that they are creatures of habit does not take much to terrify them out of there normal routine, can be as simple as a sound out of the ordinary. Make sure that explores water is to fish in the climate to be Club waters, Bill day, waters of Union or open rivers water, they tend to seek carp are fed in the same place in any party feel secure.

Suggestion 2

One of the most important carp fishing tips is to know what bait to use, there are many different theories about the best bait for carp, fishing, none of which are correct or not, one of the best ways to find out is walking the place that is fished and ask for another ánguloNo I mean to pester people there but It will take up tips and tricks from local fishermen who have fished the waters before. If the fishing is a water regularly try to create a place of power, by which I mean to create a place where the tent know that they can get food constantly and with confidence, to listen to one of the best foods for it with cream of corn which apparently can not resist the smell and be literally ready for the capture.

Suggestion 3

The President of carp fishing - you need to know

CARP fishing chairs should really provide maximum portability, comfort and convenience. Some things to consider before buying a Chair of carp fishing include not only decide what amenities that would like to have included, but also the durability of the product. Carefully consider the materials used to make it. Below are some basic questions that must be considered. What became the President of carp fishing with? Is it compatible with its climate technologies? Do depending on their weight, the Chairman of the fisheries is made of lightweight aluminum, (approximately 190 lbs maximum), or is reinforced by a greater load capacity? There is nothing worse than sitting in your new fishing Chair and having it collapse.

The President of carp fishing should be comfortable. Many carp fishermen are adamant about the comfort of the Presidency. These fishermen are willing to spend many days on the Lake and CARP fishing is a tedious process. Long periods of time will pass before the alarm sound bite and needs a President who can relax completely in. There are many different styles of chairs and choose the right one for you can mean the difference between enjoying some quality time before the Earth a tent giant or a miserable experience which is not soon forgotten.

Tent seats come with many different levels of style and comfort. If you are a fisherman who likes to take short bread while awaiting the alarm sound bite, then consider a Chair of tents that he rests and has an integrated headrest. Take into account the amount of filling used to make the President, you may pay a little more, but will be considerably improved the level of comfort. Important things you want from a good carp fishing Chair are amenities. Things to look for are padded armrest, cooler insulation of lunch, side pockets for glasses of Sun or a cell phone. If you prefer to work from the Presidency, then consider bait and accessory table platform. Adapt the Chair of law tents for you is the importance plan when pursuing this dear giant of fresh water.

Also consider how long the President will last under different climatic conditions. Aluminium parts for a President who has been treated against oxidation are less likely to rust and corrode around the water. If you purchase a chair which is to prevent mold, we will not publish a health hazard and it will be better for a longer time period. This will give your Chair of fishing increased durability, perhaps years, adding the maximum value of your money invested.

Do not forget important factors on the ground. Some of these lakes of the country's post are Rocky, muddy or both. Therefore, to take a decision on the proper President, sure the legs are long enough and they are independently adjustable to make you feel relatively level when fishing. Another important feature is broad enough fundamental leg pads to keep his chair of sinking down into the mud.

Some lightweight chairs also come with briefcases that can be hoisted on his shoulder while facilitates the transport of short distances up to your favorite fishing spot. This is especially useful when also it has a fishing rod and table address.

Rod Bank sticks to its carp rods will be necessary to support, so it will need to find some banksticks rod. It is better to avoid the use of aluminum Rod Bank clubs because they are far as strong, sometimes folded to the work.

Line of fishing line and tent Rigs to 12 lb-prueba is probably the best course for beginners with. There is a wide variety of different types of hooks, and that it will be best for you depends on your platform. You can choose between the towers of tent prefabricated that you can buy, or you can make your own fishing platform.

Networking and landing mats disengage networks may help to prevent damaging the fish as it launches. Use a fine mesh network because a thick plot can damage your tent scales. Removal of hooks from his capture also sometimes causes damage, but it can prevent or reduce this using a mat disengage quality.

So you want to go fishing for carp in France?

It's that time of year again! Carp angling enthusiasts are toiling in vein trying to search the net to find a premium resource of French Carp Lakes from which to choose a venue for their fast approaching carp fishing holiday. If you have ever attempted to find a French Carp fishing venue you will find, and many people will agree, that it is not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination. France is such a huge country with so many commercial carp fisheries and public lakes on offer, it really does pose many big questions for any newcomer or experienced angler alike! What do we need to take? Where should we go? How far do we need to travel? Which venue is best for us? These are just a few of the simple queries that one has to broach should you want to go to France fishing for carp. Ignore these questions at your peril as many trips can be ruined due to inadequate or miss-placed organisation.

If the first paragraph has made you nervous, don't fret! Within this article we are going to assist you with a list of helpful processes so as to guide you to getting the best from your French carp fishing trip.

1) Firstly I think that Health and Safety is the best place to start our pre-trip planning! Having an accident and hurting yourself or falling ill in another country, albeit unlikely, is not going to be an easy obstacle to circumnavigate. Not being able to speak French fluently and trying to scale the different health system queries will cause much confusion so it is essential that you buy or renew any existing health insurance you might have. It is absolutely vital that you gain the correct insurance cover for your carp fishing trip to France, a quick phone call to your chosen insurance provider should indicate to you that you will need to gain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). Every member of the family who is travelling will need their own card and, in the case of those from the UK, the card is valid for up to five years. To make matters easier, you can apply for an EHIC by phone or by post or through the post office in the UK.

2) With your health and safety organised I think we should now go to the exciting bit and start to search for a venue for your holiday! We should all go straight to the computer as this is where I will mainly direct my examples. Now, type in the search box "Find a French Carp Fishing Lake" and hit enter! Oh dear, looking at the search engine results is not a pretty picture is it? Page after page of French carp fishing venues appear before your eyes, your eyes scan the eclectic mix of venues and the voices in your head start to fire unlimited questions at your subconscious person "where on earth do I begin my search through this little lot"! So many venues and from so many different areas, offering a diverse choice of packages, facilities and prices! It's really not surprising that many anglers start to switch off and try to make matters easier for themselves by cutting their homework short and sticking to the well known venues or the venues they see on the first pages of their computer search or their weekly/monthly magazines. My advise in this situation is don't panic or switch off, just go and grab yourself a pen and paper and sit down with a cup of tea, a glass of wine or a cold beer and list everything you desire from your carp fishing trip to France. Your list of wishes may well be infinite but rest assured setting out a wish list will certainly aid your trawl through the vast quantities of French Carp Fisheries. Recorded on your list may be a good washing facility, shower or toilet or some may want a lake that has fish to 50lb! It doesn't matter what or how many stipulations you end up having on your list, every word written on that piece of paper is going to help you find the perfect French fishery match for you!

Here I have roughly outlined a typical example of what myself and my carp fishing buddies have placed on one of our lists, in no particular order of preference:

a) We would like a lake with fish to 50lb

b) Must have good washing facilities, don't want to be smelly!

c) Food package (as we don't want to cook ourselves, too much washing up!)

d) Travelling Distance/Time = No more than 4 hrs from Calais

e) Size of the Lake = minimum 10 acres as it needs to accommodate 6 anglers

f) Price for fishing = No more than ?350 inclusive of food.

g) Does the lake have accommodation for non fishing guests?

These pointers, of course, are not going to be the same for every carp angler going to France, they extend a good example of the type of listing technique that will help place a guideline to help you gain the right lake choice. Once this list is completed it will easily discount the venues that aren't suitable for your fishing trip to France and with so many venues to choose from on your search engine results page, you should feel a lot more confident that your final choice of venue will be the right fishery for you. As you will see from the search engine results in front of you, there is still homework to be done, but it will be made a lot easier by you having placed simple boundaries on to your requirements list. Alternatively there are some excellent Fishery directories that can offer you a large selection of French Carp Lakes all on the one site thus easing the pain of trawling through the many individual websites available on the net.

Thank goodness you've found that perfect venue!

Now we should look at the travel arrangements to your choice of venue!

Travelling to your destination will most definitely utilise 1 if not more of these 4 main modes of transport. Most French Carp Fisheries are easily accessible by Plane, Train, Car and Ferry and, very often, you will end up using more than one of these modes per trip! We will now play devils advocate and break these transport arrangements down to supply you with our opinion of the pro's and cons of your choice of transport details.

We will start with travelling to your chosen French Carp Fishery by aeroplane! With so many airports dotted all around the UK and France it has now become very easy to access large areas of France and in turn many different lake venues. Catching a plane to France is a very fast and relaxing option to choose for the start of your fishing holiday. Many French fisheries are usually within a very easy 2 hour circumference from most UK airports so travelling to your destination will be a quick, slick affair and with most fishery owners willing to provide an airport pick up/drop off service your travelling needs are kept simple, quick and effective, ultimately giving you more time on the bank!

The cons for this mode of transport are that your luggage allowance is very limited thus restricting your option of taking all your own tackle with you! Don't fear! A lot of the fisheries that are located close to French airports can offer a great tackle loan facility that doesn't cost the earth and which very often includes the use of high spec, quality tackle.

By far the most utilised method of accessing a French Fishing Holiday is by a car or van. Whether it is a hire car, van or your own vehicle it is still very advantageous to use this type of transport. The advantages of taking a car/van to France is that France will then become your oyster! You can choose where you want to go and at what time! You can take all your own tackle in a car or van and it also gives you far better access to your chosen lakes surroundings. For example, access to shops, site seeing areas and supermarkets, is, in my opinion, a real necessity as there are usually so many different towns and attractions to visit should you wish to dilute your fishing holiday. Choice is definitely the most important factor with using your own vehicle which, to me, is very important when fishing in France.

When driving to France from the UK it is always essential to use a ferry to cross the Channel and, as you will soon see, there are many different ports to utilise in the UK. Some of the more popular Channel crossing ports used regularly by Carp anglers escaping to France for their Fishing holidays are, to name but a few, Southampton, Portsmouth, Dover, Ramsgate, Weymouth and Plymouth. These ports are all located along the South coast of England and service various different French Ports. When booking your carp fishing holiday to France it is especially important to choose a departing and destination port very carefully as this may save you a lot of time, money and driving hassle! For example, if you choose the Dover to Calais ferry and your Carp fishing holiday destination was located in Brittany you should weigh the financial and time options up in comparison to a ferry trip from Plymouth to Roscoff, Poole to Cherbourg or Portsmouth to Le Havre or Caen. I live close to the ferry port of Calais but have driven to Portsmouth before because, although slightly more expensive and a longer crossing than from Calais, it has eliminated a long, awkward drive on the French side. It is just a fine balancing game between the more expensive ferry crossing from the Dorset and Devon ports and the access and driving situation to your chosen French Carp Lake once you have landed in France.

Our last mode of transport is the train! Not the most popular choice of transport to use when going to France carp fishing but definitely worth a thought. The French train and services are very good throughout the country servicing many areas so if you fancy a light luggage trip to the South of France to fish one of the many large reservoirs (e.g. Salagou, Cassein) then a very quick way to access these lakes are via train. The only pitfalls of this method would be to have to travel relatively light with your tackle/luggage and the travelling from your destination to your chosen carp fishery/lake. BUT, as I have mentioned before, if you choose a commercial fishery in France for your carp fishing holiday, the owners are usually only to pleased to offer a pick up and drop off service for you and your tackle! The train is most certainly food for thought!

Well I have come to the end of this episode and I hope this is of some help to you all! Remember, a good trip starts in the planning, follow my guidelines and make your first, second or third carp fishing trip to France a really prosperous and enjoyable experience!
